If you're preparing to move to the United States—whether to study, work, or live—you’ll need to ensure your vaccinations are in order. At Pulteney Pharmacy & Travel Vaccination Clinic in Bath, we can help you get fully vaccinated and provide the documentation you need to support your visa or university application.

This information is based on guidance from the official U.S. Department of State. You can view their up-to-date vaccination requirements here:https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/vaccinations.html

We strongly recommend that you check this page regularly and confirm the latest requirements with your university, visa officer, or the U.S. embassy before making any travel or medical arrangements. Some universities may require additional vaccines that go beyond the standard immigration list.

What Vaccines Are Required?

According to U.S. immigration law, most applicants for immigrant visas must complete a medical examination by an authorised panel physician. As part of that medical, they must show evidence of certain vaccinations, unless they qualify for a medical exemption.

The list of required vaccinations includes:

  • Hepatitis A

  • Hepatitis B

  • Influenza

  • Influenza type b (Hib)

  • Measles

  • Meningococcal

  • Mumps

  • Pneumococcal

  • Pertussis

  • Polio

  • Rotavirus

  • Rubella

  • Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

  • Varicella

While the COVID-19 vaccine was previously required, it is no longer mandatory for immigrant visa applicants as of March 2025. However, it may still be recommended by universities or for general travel protection.

It’s essential to bring documentation of any previous vaccinations to your visa medical. If you are missing vaccines or don’t have records, you may be required to receive additional doses before your visa can be approved.

How Pulteney Pharmacy Can Help

At Pulteney Pharmacy, we offer a wide range of vaccines required for U.S. immigration and university entry. Our trained pharmacists can:

  • Review your immunisation history

  • Advise on any vaccines you may be missing

  • Administer the required vaccinations

  • Provide formal documentation to support your visa or university application

We work with many clients who are planning to relocate abroad and understand how important it is to ensure everything is completed correctly and on time.

Why It Matters

Arriving at your medical appointment without the proper vaccination records could lead to delays, extra costs, or even a visa refusal. By getting everything sorted before your appointment, you reduce the risk of complications and help your application move forward without unnecessary stress.
